This is a Tarot based exercise that will radically change your connection with the Tarot. Unlike my last post, this Tarot technique will take longer to practice, and should only be attempted by the serious student who is in good psychic and mental health. If practiced long enough and with sincerity, weird and mystical things will happen. My own experiences with the Jinn Tarot Prayer have included prophetic dreams and an outer body experience. It’s powerful stuff.

The Technique
Back to business. Thirty minutes before you go to sleep, select a Tarot card that you want to learn and connect with on a profound level. Let’s use the example of the Empress card. As you are lying in bed, spend ten or twenty minutes looking at the Empress card. Try to keep your awareness on the card. When you start to feel tired, put the card under your pillow and turn the lights out. Try to keep the image of the Empress in your minds eye. Try to feel that you are in her world, and you are surrounded by luscious, green, fertile nature. It’s a warm day, there is a gentle fresh breeze, and you can see her in the distance. She has a majestic but benevolent presence; you feel honoured to be near her.
The Prayer
As the visualization gets more and more real, start reciting the following prayer until you fall asleep:
I believe in God
I believe in Mother Nature
I believe in Magick
My Mother take me with my body
The idea of this practice is to recite the prayer, with honesty, while continuing your visualisation of the Empress card, until you fall asleep. This exercise does take some practice, but the idea is that you are opening your heart and your susceptible and semi-awake mind to an Archetype and the Astral World.
The Ancients claimed the prayer would summon a Jinn, who will guide you into the Astral world.
Future Practice
This ancient prayer can be recited while visualising any other Tarot card. This will enhance your relationship with the Tarot and open other doors of consciousness for you.
Let me know how you get on with the Jinn Tarot Prayer. Any feedback would be welcome.

Wow, this is good stuff. But I’m feeling tempted to get a jinn involved. How would I know if its a good jinn or a bad jinn?
I’ve got phenomenons that has happened to me, which I can’t clarify now and I have to dig deep out of my memory box.
But I do know that I have something special in me that this reality world can’t see. I just know. A reason why I’m thinking of taking tarots again. I stopped tarot-ing maybe 2.5 years ago. In 2006. Will this affect my ability to connect with my tarot cards?
Hi Maz,
I’m not sure about the Jinn situation. I’ll leave that up to Ewen (the author of the post) to comment. However, I believe it all depends on what system you use – the difference between Qabbalistic methods and Shamanic would be an example. Personally, I’ve always tried to see Spirits as helpful.
In terms of the Tarot – it won’t take long for you to reconnect. Start slowly, and I’m sure in no time at all you will begin to feel very connected to the Tarot again.
What do you use? The Qabbalistic or the Shamanic? Is there a link for me to click on to know about both of the system? I’d google, but I prefer not to be jumping into unrelevant part of tarot. thank you!
Hi Maz,
That’s a difficult question because it all comes down to your actual world view. I would suggest exploring those subjects before deciding which one makes more sense to you. Take your time with this, and make sure you’re fully comfortable with the exercise.
I had read the previous article on Tarot Yoga by Ewen. My question to him; is it recommendable to use the same card for the Jinn Prayer and Tarot Yoga?
