Free Tarot Reading Prize Giveaway At Tarot Eon

Over the last couple of days I’ve been thinking about what I want to achieve with Tarot Eon. I love comments, and I love hearing people’s feedback on what I write, their own personal experiences, and the possibility of building a Tarot community. I really want to take the level of conversation and interaction to the next level. I would like readers to interact with me, with each other, to provide suggestions, personal experiences, questions and a whole lot more.

I really want to build a thriving community around Tarot Eon; founded on genuine interaction, discussion and sharing.

Let’s get interacting

On the right hand sidebar, I have a list of top commentators. If, by the end of this month, you can get your name to the top of this list, then I have a great prize for you. For the top three commentators, you will all receive a free email Tarot reading. At the end of every month I will reset this list back to zero, and the competition will start all over again.

Prizes:

  • 1st – Celtic Cross reading
  • 2nd – Three card reading
  • 3rd – One card reading

This is a win-win situation for everyone. Not only will you win a free Tarot reading by my good self, but you will also engage with some great people, make good friends, and learn a thing or two about Tarot as well.

The Fine Print

Leave a comment on any post from now until the end of September and you will be entered into this contest.

Non-spam simply means that it needs to be on topic and more than five words. I’ll use my judgment to determine what I think is legitimate and what I think is spam.

The readers with the most comments will be the winners.

The contest will end at midnight on the last day of September 2009 and a winner will be announced on October 1st.

This is a really good idea to get the lurkers out from the shadows. So will these readings be in person? If so, does this mean a free trip to the UK ;)

Which leads me to a reader questilon – how do you find doing readings via e-mai? Does it change your reading style when it is written as opposed to spoken? Do you miss the interactiveness of the person you are reading for? I ask as I currently only offer distance readings via phone and skype and have been considering e-mail readings. Perhaps this is a new post topic for your blog?

Good question :)

A Tarot reading done through emails is very different from face-to-face. However, once you’ve dealt out the cards, it’s strange how the intuition just starts to flow.

It does change the style in which I communicate, but after a while this actually helped improve my overall communication style. Somehow it helped to give me a more balanced way of interacting, both with the Tarot, and with the client – either via email, face-to-face, over the phone or through text messages.

I remember when I did text readings for a while; that really helped me understand, especially for email readings, how the connection is still there but in a different way.

I think one of the main benefits of an email reading is the control you have over how long you spend on a particular section of the Tarot spread. It can actually be a more organic way of making a connection – as opposed to phone readings for example, which demands a more instantaneous ‘result’.

Perhaps this is a new post topic for your blog?

Great idea for an article ;) , thank you.

It’s a nice way to build a community and get interaction Doug – good idea to run a competition. I understand how you feel about comments, because I also have a blog and although I get around 100+ visits a week, the comments are far and few between posts – it can be a lonely world out there blogging. I read Tarot Eon and always find your posts of interesting. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your kind words. The blogging world can indeed be lonely ;)

LOL….I stopped commenting because I thought I was such a novice….now free rein…!!!

I have found the more I interact with others…the more I learn and the richer my life becomes…..conversation is the way we construct meaning….along with actual experiences…so this is a great direction to head…and a chance at a free reading makes it all the sweeter!!

Hi Ginger,

LOL yup, free reign! ;)

I couldn’t agree more. Communicating with others, making connections and meaningful interactions is the best way to keep the enthusiasm going as well as gaining valuable and unique ways of viewing Tarot.

Another excellent idea from the mind of Douglas! :)

Your comments earlier about the nature of email readings were interesting. I hope to get one of these readings, it will be interesting to see how it works on the receiving end; especially as I believe you normally have a very interactive style with your in-person clients.

Hi Jason,

Thank you for your compliment :)

I agree – I would describe my style of Tarot reading as very interactive.

If you end up winning this months top commentator prize, I’d love to hear what you thought of the reading :)

Hi. I discovered your site just yesterday when I searched for “elemental dignities in tarot”. I’m glad I stumbled upon your site because I’m just starting out to learn. Such a good resource website you have here. Hope to learn more.

I just wanted to thank you I have started the elemental techique and it has def worked wonders I had been very discouraged with learning since Tarot can be very intimidating with 78 cards waiting to tell their story and having to remember that story not from being spoken telling but rather read I have began to spark my interest once again through the two-card association Also, I had just stumbled across the site looking something up and have found a great tool Thank you

Christine

Hi Christine,

I’m glad that Elemental Dignities is having a positive effect on your Tarot readings, and that some of the early confusion you experienced with learning the 78 Tarot cards has been reduced. :D

Thank you for your kind words :D
