Thank you for that answer. I guess I was looking at the negative of the 5 of Disks instead of it being something that will come out as a positive. I noticed that I have been getting alot of negative cards with positive cards and it is very frustrating for me. I think alot of times that is because the elemental dignities are throwing me off also. Sometimes they just don’t match the cards meanings.

light bulb moment for me, but when i do a reading that asks if the couple will get back together or make up from a fight or what ever and it is cards like Sun/2 Cups/Ace Dicks – 3 amazingly positive cards, but the elemental dignity is negative…”nothing is moving forward” then I throw down 3 more cards knight (Not king)of Wands/7 wands/Queen Cups and get things move forward but expect resistance, the previous reading starts to make a little more sense. Not much more…lol…but I know this couple and that is how they are…on again, off again. He wants her when he wants her. She needs to tell him good-bye but can’t. Hmmm…

This is a tough combination of cards. Sometimes, we have to drop set techniques when it comes to certain cards and read them in whatever way feels right.

For instance, this combination could be interpreted exactly as you described it – that someone is learning a new skill, that their finances suffer and as a result, they feel a lack of support and general feeling of isolation and loneliness.

It doesn’t indicate failure by any means. What it does indicate is certain material pressures will dominate them during this process.

I drew the King of Wands/5 of Disks/8 of Disks. Elementally the 5 of Disks is “fairly strong” in this triad. The two flanking cards are positive where the 5 of Disks isn’t. How do you read that? How can there be a “confirmation that things go well” and “The outcome is usually successful when this card appears. This card indicates the learning of a new skill, a promotion at work, recognition for the quality of work the client is producing, and also the hard work and length of time that might be involved in reaching that successful outcome” and there be “Financial loss and/or, also has an emotional quality to it which would probably be experienced by the client as loneliness and isolation. Sometimes desire is indicated with this card and the lack of opportunity to satisfy that desire”, too?
