A talented artist called Niki de Saint Phalle, in 1979 started work on what was later to be named the Tarot Garden or Giardino dei Tarocchi. The garden features 22 giant mosaic sculptures of the Trump cards. These are truly massive in scale; some even large enough to be lived in (some were designed to be real buildings!). Niki de Saint Phalle herself lived in the Empress (that looks like the Sphinx from the outside) sculpture during the creation of the garden.
This was an epic piece of work which took the creator almost 20 years to complete. It was in May of 98 that the garden was officially opened to the public. The Garden itself is situated at:
Giardino dei Tarocchi,Pescia Fiorentina,
Capalbio,
Provincia de Grossetto (58100)

Overall, I can’t help but wonder if I’m too limited in how I see the Tarot? I seem to use the Tarot in such a narrow way (fortune telling and meditation) when I compare what other people have been inspired to do with these 78 cards. When I think about what Niki de Saint Phalle did with the Tarot and how it inspired her – I know there must be others who are being creative with the cards in all sorts of wonderful ways.
If you know of any amazing ways that people have been inspired by the Tarot, or how you yourself have used the cards in a creative way – leave a comment
