I'm thinking about the 5 of Disks. It's an unusual card. I'm used to reading it as financially based but I once read somewhere that the 5 of Disks could represent, "Lovers", amongst other things. What do you think? Is there more to the 5 of Disks?

DouglasI decided to upgrade the forum, which is causing some styling problems. I plan on fixing this when I get a chance. I hope it doesn't put you off using the forum.April 2012

DouglasWonder is the feeling of a philosopher, and philosophy begins in wonder - Socrates, quoting Plato. That's how I feel about Tarot and how important it is for me not to lose the wonder.July 2011

DouglasMuch of the readings I do are relationship based. I try to keep mindful of how important hope is for people and how hope usually equals someone else. "The first marriage is the triumph of imagination over intelligence, and the second the triumph of hope over experience."July 2011

ivyConfused about his one, Doug. The only connection I could come up with is that they are opposites. Maybe showing that they are coupled, especially as a future setting-show what could become...ie: Heading for hard times...then the opposite, heading for better times. Too vague?June 2011

TarotCharioteerOoh ooh ooh what about the fact that since the number 5 stands for "man" (and let's interpret that literally, as in 'male'), and Disks stand for the earth, or 'female'...hence the 5 of Disks representing "Lovers"?? Whaddaya guys think? ;)June 2011

DouglasHey, cool thoughts guys. The idea of opposites, which you both express, is awesome. Certainly better than what I'd come up with :)June 2011

ivyThe first card I thought of was the Devil-Negativity, patterns of behavior and the feelings of guilt is written all over it. The three of swords would work with this, guilt feelings of past deeds, however, maybe the querent is oblivious of the harm he/she's causing. Of course swords always bring about a fine balance. The eight definitely adds a sick personality trait, but then the guilt could become betrayal. Mmm?June 2011

DouglasCool ideas. The Devil as well as the Swords cards would certainly fit the bill. What about the 6 of Cups - guilty pleasure?June 2011

DouglasI'm working with the Haindl Tarot at the moment. Enjoying the interesting way the Court cards are represented.June 2011

ivyI've had the Haindl deck quite a while. Rachel Pollack's 'the Haindl Tarot' has been quite helpful with the interpretation of his artistic vision.June 2011

DouglasI've been meaning to read that book but I've never got around to buying it. When I do though, I'm sure it's going to add to the experience of using it :)June 2011

Got a question. How do you do the thumbnail edit? I can't seem to make anything drag or resize.September 2010

DouglasHey, I just double clicked on a corner until the cursor changed. I then dragged it around, increasing its size until I was happy.September 2010
