When a Card Reader is Wrong
  • What would make a readers deal so off? Can readers get lazy? I had gone to the same reader over a period of time and she started reading me wrong like the suspense to read me had left her. Can this happen?
  • Hi jdh419

This is a difficult question to answer. There are so many reasons why readings go wrong. Some of these reasons are external and others internal. However, I suspect you're questioning the internal kind. I say this because your question is concerned with attributing the failure of the reading to the tarot readers internal psychological state i.e. laziness; "suspense to read me had left her," and so on. So, why has this reader (who was accurate before), now getting things wrong?

To be honest, I don't know.

Have you ever given yourself a reading that turned out to be wrong? Most people have. Why does this happen? After all, we know our situation and understand our question better than anyone else could and yet, we don't always read correctly.

I've come to view these changes in accuracy (the internal changes) in terms of cycles. There is a sweet spot - a short period of time when reading for someone (or yourself) will be accurate. After that, less so. Given enough time, it goes back to being accurate again.

This can also be viewed as similar to what happens in any relationship. There are times when you are close to someone and times when you are not - this tends to be cyclic and probably very natural.

Anyway, to answer your question, yes this happens. It has happened to me and I'm sure it is more common than most people feel comfortable with.
  • It happens. She may have been unable to tune in to you. Maybe she was tired. Perhaps you were more guarded or ungrounded than usual. What did she get wrong? The past, the present or the future?
If she was off regarding the past or the present it could be that she was having a bad day or that you are not open to see things from an objective point of view.
If she was wrong on the future that has by now come to pass there could be two reasons.
    A) She made a mistake interpreting the cards.
    B) The events she was reading about where shaping up and not settled yet. You or someone else affecting those events changed course. The future is not set in stone. A reading is just a snap shot taken at that point in time. It can tell you how you got to where you are and where you are heading, but all sort of things can shift and influence the future outcome. We have freedom of choice and so does everyone else.

One last comment. If you have gone to the same reader for a while she may have got to know you and your situation a bit and it may be affecting her objectivity interpreting the cards.
